Prague Currency in Prague foreign exchange rates

What is the Currency in Prague? Find out what type of money or foreign currency you will need when travelling to Prague. Learn about foreign exchange rates, Banking, Currency & Taxes...

The currency in the Czech republic is the Koruna, although credit cards are widely accepted, and you can use most ATM machines with a Visa or Cirrus card. Banks will exchange traveller's cheques as well as Sterling and US Dollars. If you plan to use unlicensed exchangers, they do offer better rates than the banks, although have been linked with fraud. They prefer cash (US dollars) for obvious reasons.

Although the days of getting a beer in Prague for less than 10 pence are long gone, the city is still pretty cheap by British standards, and you can pick up a meal for around £5 including wine in one of the local restaurants, although the ones that cater mainly for tourists do charge a lot more.
