Getting around the island of Phuket is best done in a taxi, although once inside the towns, Tuk-Tuks ply their trade and are good value. There are many boat trips on offer, and several small ferries offer links between the different resorts and the surrounding islands. It is possible to hire a car on the island, and if you are planning to tour extensively, this is a good idea, as well as being fairly reasonable.
